Well we have a sort of a piramid society only without a peak like the pony society.

Our highest ranking dragons are the elders, chosen for their greater intellect and wisdom. Any dragon of a certain age can challenge them for their position but generally they are only replaced when they pass on.

Below that, pretty much all mature Dwarf Dragons are equal and will change their roles as they mature. If an individual is found to have a particular talent for something, Like my excellent bargening and communication skills, they will focus on that for most of their life.

We operate on a purely hive mentality, with everything done to further the activities of the colony itself. But that’s just the tip of the iceburg there.
